I’m thrilled to share some exciting news: two of my paintings were accepted into this year’s ING Discerning Eye Exhibition, and from over 6,500 entries, only 735 works were ultimately selected to hang. To have my work included in that small group feels incredibly special and then to receive the Outstanding Entry for the Scotland region on top of that has honestly left me beaming.

A huge thank you to artist Polly Morgan, this year’s selector. I’ve admired her work for a long time. Her way of working with tension, transformation, and the unexpected. So having her choose my pieces is both energising and deeply encouraging. It means a lot to know that something in the quiet landscapes I’m exploring resonated with her.

I also want to extend real gratitude to the ING Discerning Eye team and organisers, who hold this exhibition together with so much care. It’s a show that champions diversity of approach - different scales, different voices, different ways of seeing - and being part of something so eclectic and welcoming has been a joy.

And of course, huge congratulations to all the other selected artists and award winners. There’s so much talent and I’m genuinely proud to be exhibiting alongside such thoughtful, skilled makers.

Thank you to everyone who has supported my work - whether that’s through visiting exhibitions, following along online, or simply taking a moment to connect with the paintings themselves. It all matters, and it keeps me moving.

If you’d like to explore the exhibition, you can catch it in person or visit the ING Discerning Eye website. It’s a rich, inspiring collection this year, and well worth the time.
